Rock

The rock musical genre appeared by 1950 in the United States. The rock looked like then a mixture of jazz, blues and country music. The rock evolved and it now became a powerful and highly varied music style.

                                                                       

The rock knows from 1955 in the United States a big success. Several American artists follow Bill Haley: Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard and many others. The precursors had been in their immense majority of the black musicians, in jazzy trend: Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, but also Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Sidney Bechet.

But at the end of 1950s, the rock 'n' roll lost its popularity and its vitality: the biggest of time"disappear".

The rock is characterized by a dominant vocal melody, often accompanied by one  electric guitar, a bass guitar and a battery, but can be also accompanied with synthesizers / piano, with brass instruments or with the other instruments.

                                                                   

Today rock have famous musical band like Queen/Freddie Mercury,Rolling stones for symbol.

For the young, the rock is cool.
